Good morning, first let me send my condolences to the family, and the people of Barbados on the passing of Sir Garfield Sobers. I remember standing and ironing my high school uniform while listening to cricket( which I had very little knowledge of) but I know there was a Garry Sobers. At the time he was known as the ” man with the collars up.” I later found out that he always turned his collar up, with the bat under his right arm while walking across the field to bat, which made the crowd go wild. I would continue to listen to the ” Radiofusion” at the time. I would continue to hear the announcer yell ” its a six. Its another six, and another six. I often wonder to myself ” wait, is this a one man game? As I grew older I realized that ” Sir Garfield Sobers was the greatest Cricketer of all times.” Go be with god 🙏 he is anxiously waiting for you. Tears 😢 and love always.
